What’s with these customers?

You know that the life of a lowly waitress could at times be very stressful. I really believe that everyone should wait tables at one time in their lives. There is nothing more annoying then customers whistling you down for another diet coke, because #1 I am not a dog so leave your whistling for any pets that you have at home. Reason #2 To have 2diet cokes is ok but 5 maybe this is why you weight over 300 YA THINK!! Then there is the customer that after you have asked if they need anything else they say no we are fine that immediately calls you back and makes you run back to the kitchen 3 seperate times instead of in one trip. Don’t people know that you have other customers? But most of all I love the fisherman that come in right before closing, they seem to think we have all been waiting around to wait on them-wrong! These guys come in and order the cheapest things on the menu, drink gallons of beer and if you are lucky you might average about a 8 % tip from them. Hey customers do you people realize that I make right around half of the minium wage for a wage and basically live on TIPS!! So you people who are living in the dark ages, the going rate for tipping is 15% and don’t forget that as a whole your server is human too and many may have a better education then the people they are waiting on! So the next time you go into a resturaunt treat the server as if they are part of your family and remember that your server is trying to make a living on what they recieve as your tip. So smile, don’t be snooty and be generous!! Be safe and take care!

Lately I have had quite a bit to whine about, 2010 has not been kind to me and it just gets worse. I orgiginally did all my whining to fellow co-workers or family members. I think they got sick of listening to me and encouraged me to do some blogging. I understand everyone is struggling right now with any number of things and mine is probably pretty insignificant compared to others but I need to communitcate with someone! The year started just like any other when you live in South Dakota, with suprise snow storms, no money and trying to make ends meet and absoulute boredom. For those who are unfamiliar to South Dakota the saying is if you don’t like the weather wait 24 hours and it will change and that is very true. The Mighty Mo (missouri river) runs down the middle of the state with farming being done in eastern South Dakota and ranching in western South Dakota. If you are not real familiar with SD the majoritaty of people are lower income, just struggling to get by. But by no means are these people lazy, you will not find a harder working state as a whole in the US. Most south dakotians work 2 or more jobs so that isn’t the issue. Like I stated before we farm, ranch, we also do tourism, hunting and fishing. That is the whole of South Dakotas economy and is such that I will be basing my blog’s on in the future.
